Labour Day Mural Competition

labour day mural design call

Labour Day 2013 is just around the corner and we’ll be painting a mural in the hall at the Danny Williams Primary School for the Deaf (DWS).

Instead of having our team decide on a design for the mural, we want our Bloom family (aged 18 to 25) to #GetInvolved and submit their designs. After a short Facebook competition, we’ll have the students at DWS vote for the design they like most.

Our theme is:  OH THE PLACES YOU WILL GO AS YOU BLOOM, LEARN AND GROW.

This theme is based on the book ‘Oh the places you’ll go’ by Dr Seuss, and is the perfect bit of motivation for our little ones who regardless of their disability, are very much destined for greatness! (see full text from book here)

Sketches submitted must of course depict the theme and do not need to be coloured. They should be simple enough to be completed in at most two days (not including the sketch day) and the artist should be able to join us for sketching and painting between May 22nd and 24th.

If you or someone you know wants to #GetInvolved and make the perfect design, check the competition rules and guidelines here, and send a photo of your sketch to projects@bloomfoundation4edu.org as soon as possible.

Submissions must be made by May 14th at 11:59pm and Facebook voting ends at 11:59pm on May 16th. The winner will be selected and announced by May 18th via our social media pages.

Good luck everyone, we’re excited to see your designs!
